Five first inning runs propel the Guardians to a 7-0 home win over the Detroit Tigers. Radio host and CM contributor Dennis Manoloff breaks down game one of the ALDS.

Takeaway One: Starting pitcher Tanner Bibee showed up and showed out.
After a rocky first inning, the No. 1 starter pitched more than four lights-out innings. "Incredible job," says Manoloff.

Takeaway Two: Five-run first inning propels the win.
Jose Ramirez could have been called out on strikes on a pitch just below the zone but got on base due to an error. Then, recent acquisition Lane Thomas hits a three-run homer. "He'd gone into a massive slump while with Cleveland. People wondered why did the Guardians go get him," says Manoloff. "Well, that swing is a big reason why."

Takeaway Three: The four horsemen of the bullpen dominated.
Tim Herrin, Cade Smith, Hunter Gaddis and Emmanuel Clase finished up with four and a third hitless inning. "They dominated. They do what they do. They flexed, and they'll be ready for game two," says Manoloff.
